Natural health is the simplest type of health care there is, because it simply involves getting out of your own way and allowing your natural healing mechanisms to take over.
For many of us, doing this is not easy at first – it requires much greater awareness of our emotions and thoughts, along with an understanding of natural health practices, therapies and products.
Obviously, the best approach to health is to stay well. True natural health is about noticing our body's subtle signs of dis-ease (or unease) before they turn into stronger symptoms, and using those cues to help keep our whole system in balance.
Natural health practitioners understand that if physical symptoms are treated superficially, and in isolation from the underlying beliefs and emotions, the reason for the dis-ease will still be there - even if that particular set of symptoms seems to have disappeared.
An ignored and unhealed disease pattern will continue to express itself, either more strongly or in a different way, until the cause is addressed. If the cause is not addressed for a length of time, it can eventually express as chronic illness. (Often this progression is referred to as 'ageing'.)
Natural health is often referred to as holistic health. Holistic health considers the whole person and addresses all levels; Body, Mind and Spirit, knowing that each affects the other. There is in fact a whole branch of natural health treatment called Mind Body therapy.
However, natural health is not always approached holistically. Many people merely look for natural methods or ‘quick fixes’ to replace drugs, rather than doing the inner work that is required for true healing.
On this site we include more superficial natural therapies and remedies, as well as going deeper to investigate the true underlying causes of dis-ease. We intend to address all levels of healing and wellness for true and complete natural health. Leave a comment | View Comments |
